The challenge was to create a fresh visual library for WAU Eats’ handmade samosas, as far from standard samosa photography as possible. We wanted to give each flavour its own character, using colour, ingredients, texture and playful compositions to move beyond the familiar brown-on-a-plate approach.

What started as a photography challenge quickly became a wonderfully collaborative few days in the WAU kitchen. The whole team got involved in cooking, styling, rearranging ingredients, throwing ideas around and, inevitably, eating a fair few samosas along the way.

Together, we photographed thirteen flavours and created a colourful, contemporary collection that puts the food first while giving WAU a distinctive visual world of its own.
